
Bihar Legislative Council Chairperson Tarakant Jha on Wednesday said that the government would hold an year-long celebration in Bihar in 2012 to mark the 100th year of the foundation of the Council that was formed on March 22, 1912.
Jha was speaking at an event held at the Council premises to bid farewell to the outgoing legislators.
The event would invite former legislators, eminent politicians, and Members of the Parliament who started their political career in Bihar, Jha said.
Welcoming the announcement, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh said the Council should form a committee headed by Jha to prepare for the massive event.
Chief Minister of Bihar Jagannath Mishra, Dr. Padmasha Jha, Prof. Wasi Ahmed, Prof. P. N. Sharma, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi were among many others who attended the meeting.
