The ongoing rift in Bihar JD(U) ended on Sunday with party’s national president Sharad Yadav accepting Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lalan’s
resignation and appointing Vijay Kumar Chowdhary the new state chief. ‘‘I spoke to all, notably CM Nitish Kumar and Lalan also,’’ Sharad said.
Lalan, however, said, ‘‘Things like lack of democracy in the party have yet to be addressed.’’ Chowdhary served as party’s general secretary and spokesman but he is still considered a lightweight in Bihar politics.
