
"That house is now known as the Psychology Department of Patna University," Jha said.
The Chairperson of the Bihar Legislative Council further said that Sir Dutt saved nearly three-fourth of his salary each month for 14 long years only to give it away to various charities to benefit orphans, widows, and schools in the state.
"Much ahead of his time in terms of pragmatism and fair treatment to all, Sir Dutt was not bound by his caste or community. For him, education was an inalienable right of all and he lived his life on the principles he believed in," Jha said.
Bihar Human Rights Commission Chairperson S. N. Jha, Cooperative Minister Giriraj Singh, and a number of eminent citizens also spoke on the occasion.
