Officials of the US-based Lighting House, a power company, met with Bihar Energy Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh and proposed to set up solar power plants in Bihar.
Sudhir Singh and Apoorva Agrawal of Lighting House said that Bihar was the perfect candidate for solar plants that are not only cheap to set up but also effective and environmental-friendly that would allow power to even small villages where electricity is yet not available.
Singh asked the company officials to submit their proposal to the Industry department after which a final decision would be taken during a meeting with the Chief Minister.
Once approved, the first solar power plant would be set up in Patna that would also sport new LED lights to replace the existing conventional lights on Patna streets, Agrawal said.
